Welcome to MSA’s QualJobMatch database that allows users to find information relating to MSA qualifications, match the qualifications to the Australian and New Zealand Standard Classifications of Occupations (ANZSCO) and to the relevant Modern Award.
MSA qualifications can also be matched to the relevant Australian Standard Classification of Education (ASCED).
This site helps you to perform basic and advanced searches and view details about:
- MSA qualifications
- ANZSCO as relevant to MSA qualifications
- Modern Awards as relevant to MSA qualifications
- ASCED as relevant to MSA qualifications
The Quick Search function will enable you to search by a key word or phrase (such as engineering or manufacturing) or by MSA qualification, ANZSCO occupation or Modern Award title.
The Advanced Search function offers more data fields to search by and allows you to be more prescriptive in your search parameters.
The MSA qualification button provides a drop down menu of all MSA qualifications by Training Package and qualification code. If you know the code of the qualification you are seeking, you can simply click on the code and that will take you to the page with the relevant information concerning that qualification. Once you are on that page, there are links to all the related data for that qualification.
The ANZSCO occupations button provides a drop down menu of all ANZSCO codes relevant to MSA qualifications. Clicking on a code will take you to the page with the relevant information about that occupation. Once you are on that page, there are links to all the related data for that occupation.
The Modern Awards button provides a drop down menu of all Modern Awards codes relevant to MSA qualifications. if you know the code of the Modern Award you are seeking, you can simply click on the code and that will take you to the page with the relevant information concerning that qualification. Once you are on that page, there are links to all the related data for that Modern Award.
MSA qualification
The qualification notes outlines the job roles/employment outcomes for the qualification; application of the qualification; pathways into the qualification and pathways from the qualification; any other addition qualification advice relating to the qualification; licensing considerations and the packaging rules. Australian and New Zealand Standard Classification of Occupations (ANZSCO)
The Australian and New Zealand Standard Classification of Occupations (ANZSCO) has been developed by the Australian Bureau of Statistics to provide a basis for the standardised collection, analysis and dissemination of occupational data for Australia and New Zealand.
ANZSCO is a skill-based classification used to classify all occupations and jobs in the Australian and New Zealand labour markets. The full version of ANZSCO can be found on the Australian Bureau of Statistics website.
Modern Award
Information is provided on the Modern Award code, Modern Award name and the coverage of the Modern Award. Detailed information on the Modern Award can be found on the Fair Work Australia website.
Skill level
Information is provided on the skills and/or the qualification level required at each classification level as defined in the Modern Award. Detailed information on the Modern Award can be found on the Fair Work Australia website.
Duties
Information is provided on the duties required of an employee at each classification level as defined in the Modern Award. Detailed information on the Modern Award can be found on the Fair Work Australia website.
Australian Standard Classification of Education (ASCED)
The Australian Standard Classification of Education (ASCED) is a statistical classification developed by the Australian Bureau of Statistics for use in the collection and analysis of data on educational activity and attainment. The information used in this database is Field of Education data. Field of Education is defined as the subject matter of an educational activity. Fields of education are related to each other through the similarity of subject matter, through the broad purpose for which the education is undertaken, and through the theoretical content which underpins the subject matter. The full version of ASCED can be found on the Australian Bureau of Statistics website.
ASCED classifications are only linked to MSA qualifications in this database.
Non-MSA occupations
Where the Modern Award refers to occupations that are not covered by a qualification from MSA Training Package, a reference to the appropriate Industry Skills Council or Modern Award has been included.
